AIAA UAP Integration and Outreach Committee to Host Technical Paper Session at Aviation 2023

14-15 June, 2023

Ryan Graves, Michael Lembeck, and Patrick Donovan

The AIAA Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena Integration and Outreach Committee is holding a technical paper session entitled "Advancing the Scientific Understanding of UAP to Improve Aviation Safety" at the AIAA Aviation Forum 2023.

Virtual session June 14th:
  • Reconstruction of 'Gimbal' UAP
  • Research on UAP at Julius-Maximilians-University
  • FAA UAS Sighting Reports: A Preliminary Survey
  • Constraints for Creation of UAP EM Signature Optimal Detection Systems

In-person session June 15th:

  • Expedition to W-72

  • Detection, Characterization, and Evaluation of UAP

  • Improving Acquisition & Management of Aviation-Related UAP Data

  • Aerodynamic Interactions & Turbulence Mitigation by UAP

In recent years, elements of the U.S. government have officially stated that UAP represent a safety of flight issue and may pose a challenge to U.S. national security. The session aims to establish an on-going collaboration to develop reference system architectures and best practices for collecting observational data on UAP.
