Dr. Ravi Starzl (M.S. '12 , Ph.D '12 CMU) is an integrated artificial intelligence, machine learning, and complex systems specialist trained at Carnegie Mellon University, where he is also on the faculty. Emphasizing a cross disciplinary research approach, Ravi bridges the domains of computer science, physics, and complex systems.
Ravi was the lead machine learning specialist on the team that developed advanced maintenance analytics and proactive component failure prediction for Boeing commercial aircraft, as well as the team that conducted the first hand and face transplants in the United States and Austria. He is a member of the Association of Computational Machinery, the Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence, the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, and the Society for Biological Engineering.
